About the Course: Master of Science in Psychology is a Postgraduate Academic Degree program. The first-year curriculum prescribed by Bangalore University includes both theory and practical papers: Theory papers consist of essential papers and subjects that provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge in more novel subjects. It includes Foundational papers in Psychology and Research Methods (Quantitative & Qualitative) and Statistics.

Practical papers instruct in conducting:

Psychological Assessments,

Developing modules & delivering training for different psychological skills to others as well as research work to develop an assessment scale.

In the second year, students can choose specializations from Clinical Psychology, Child Guidance or Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Availability of the specializations is subject to enrollment of minimum number of students. Some common theory papers address issues currently relevant to all professionals in the field. In addition, an open elective paper in a non-psychology subject gives students a chance to widen their horizons.

Specialization-specific papers provide comprehensive knowledge as well as practical training in assessments & interventions. Students are also required to complete a compulsory internship and submit a dissertation in their respective specialization.

MSc Psychology at CAIAS is a rigorous, but rewarding program.
