B.Sc – Chemistry, Mathematics
Explore the unique and challenging Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Chemistry and Mathematics program at CAIAS. Our program combines the study of fundamental sciences – Chemistry and Mathematics, preparing students for a wide range of career opportunities in STEM fields
Welcome to the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Chemistry and Mathematics program at CAIAS!
Our B.Sc in Chemistry and Mathematics program is a unique and challenging undergraduate course that combines the study of two fundamental sciences – Chemistry and Mathematics. The program is designed to give students a strong foundation in the theoretical and experimental aspects of both subjects, and to prepare them for a wide range of career opportunities in the fields of science, technology, pharmaceuticals, biochemistry and mathematics (STEM).
This BSc Honors course is a four-year course with multiple exit points as per the New Education Policy(NEP). Each semester includes appropriate and comprehensive practical papers which expose students to practical applications of the theory subjects. For students hoping to pursue further studies, it will enable them to get a Masters degree, in one- year only.
B Sc Programme syllabus comprises courses related to core subjects, open electives from other disciplines, skill enhancement and value added courses apart from languages.
The Discipline Based Core Subject, Chemistry is a scientific discipline that involves the study of matter, its compositions, properties, and reactivity with other elements. An undergraduate degree in Chemistry provides a foundation for understanding both the theoretical and applied scientific disciplines from the fundamental level. Students will study basic principles of various branches of Chemistry and will be able to demonstrate a range of practical skills to conduct and infer experiments independently and in groups.
The other Discipline Based Core subject which is Mathematics is the language of the Universe and Queen of Sciences. An undergraduate degree in Mathematics is the culmination of in-depth knowledge in various branches of Pure and Applied Mathematics. This course improves the ability to communicate various mathematical concepts effectively using examples and their geometrical visualization using computer- based practical methods by using Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) tools like MAXIMA, PYTHON, etc.
The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, mathematics, and numerical analysis. Students will also learn about the latest trends and developments in the field, such as green chemistry, materials science, and mathematical modeling.
