Profile
Ms. Tresa Mary Joshy
Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce
Ms. Tresa Mary Joshy is a commerce postgraduate with hands-on industry experience and a strong passion for teaching. She spent nearly three years working as a Tax Consultant at Deloitte USI, where she specialized in preparing and reviewing U.S. federal and state tax returns for corporate and partnership clients. Her responsibilities extended beyond technical tax work to include mentoring new joiners and collaborating with multicultural teams across India and the United States.
Academically, she holds both M.Com and B.Com (Honors) degrees with a specialization in Banking and Insurance. She is also an Associate of the Insurance Institute of India. Currently, she is pursuing a part-time Ph.D. in Commerce.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Tresa is deeply committed to community service. She has actively volunteered with VFC (Volunteer for a Cause), Bengaluru, where she helped organize events ranging from birthday celebrations, yoga sessions, and reading sessions in children’s homes and old age homes, to larger initiatives such as “We Are Your Voice”—the largest job fair for the physically challenged in 2019.
Tresa believes that these diverse experiences—spanning the corporate world, academia, and social service—have shaped her vision of transitioning fully into the academic field. Her goal is to blend corporate insights and community engagement with academic rigor to nurture and inspire the next generation of commerce professionals.
