The primary objective was to provide students with structured exposure to academic pathways and relevant information to support decision-making at the pre-university level.
The programme opened with an address by the IQAC Coordinator, Dr.K M Vinay Kumar, who spoke about the importance of early academic planning and the role of individual interest in shaping career goals. His remarks highlighted the need for students to reflect on their aspirations and understand the available options in a broader context.
Faculty members from various departments led sessions focused on their respective disciplines. The sessions included an overview of undergraduate programme options, key subject areas, course structures, and academic requirements. Students were also introduced to interdisciplinary study possibilities, emerging areas of specialization, and institutional pathways for higher education.
Additional topics covered included eligibility criteria for different programmes, information about entrance examinations, and procedures for admission into universities and colleges. Faculty also addressed current trends in various industries, the evolution of professional roles, and the skills required in changing employment contexts. Guidance on postgraduate study opportunities and academic progression was provided as part of the long-term planning discussion.
Interactive elements such as Q&A sessions, open forums, and scenario-based discussions were incorporated to engage students and clarify doubts. The approach aimed to support students in evaluating their choices and gaining a realistic understanding of academic and career options available after school education.
By the end of the programme, students had access to structured, discipline-wise information and had opportunities to engage directly with academic staff. The sessions were intended to assist students in making informed decisions based on individual interests, academic strengths, and awareness of evolving educational and career landscapes.
Seven-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Let’s Teach: Best Practices in Classroom Delivery”

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies (CAIAS) conducted a week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Let’s Teach: Best Practices in Classroom Delivery” from 26th to 3rd June 2025. The FDP was conceptualized as a hands-on, practice-oriented initiative aimed at enhancing teaching effectiveness, with specific emphasis on the application of pedagogical strategies, classroom management, and content delivery.
The programme structure provided each faculty member with the opportunity to deliver a demonstration lecture based on their subject area. This model enabled participants to simulate real-time classroom scenarios and apply varied teaching approaches. Sessions included lectures, use of multimedia tools, open discussions, and follow-up feedback rounds. Faculty members were encouraged to focus on outcome-based teaching, clarity of communication, interactive techniques, and time-sensitive lesson planning. Each session was followed by peer and moderator feedback, which allowed for constructive discussion on the strengths and areas for improvement in individual teaching practices. Particular attention was given to student engagement techniques, incorporation of learner diversity, and the alignment of teaching methods with institutional learning outcomes.
The sessions were coordinated and academically supported by Dr. Binu Paul, Dean of Academics, and Prof. Vinay Kumar K M, IQAC Coordinator. Their role involved guiding the reflection process, offering structured feedback, and facilitating the exchange of effective methodologies drawn from contemporary education trends. Faculty were also encouraged to consider inclusive practices, such as differentiated instruction and formative assessment tools.A cross-section of departments was represented throughout the programme, resulting in the sharing of diverse teaching techniques, including case-based learning, blended instruction, flipped classroom approaches, and discipline-specific strategies. This interdisciplinary exposure supported the development of a common understanding of effective teaching across departments and course levels.
The FDP concluded with a group review session where key practices were summarized and recurring challenges were documented for further exploration. Participants proposed follow-up sessions and documentation of best practices in the form of a reference guide for future faculty induction and capacity-building initiatives. This programme contributes meaningfully to the institution’s academic quality enhancement framework and aligns with its broader goals of strengthening teaching-learning processes and faculty development.
