Dr. Mahesh NV

Assistant Professor of Economics and Management

Dr. Mahesh N.V. is an accomplished academician with 20 years of teaching and research experience in Economics and General Management. He holds an MBA from Karnataka State Open University, an M.A. in Economics from Bengaluru University, an M.Phil. in Economics from Sri Venkateswara University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, awarded in 2021. His career reflects a strong commitment to student-centred teaching, curriculum innovation, and institutional development. Currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies (PG & UG) at Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, he previously spent six years as Head of the Department of Economics (M.A.) at St. Francis De Sales College, where he also served as Controller of Examinations, IQAC Coordinator, and PG Academic Coordinator. Earlier in his career, he taught for six years at BTL First Grade College and four years at Lorven College of Science and Management, handling classes across Economics, Commerce, and Management programmes at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

Dr. Mahesh’s research spans institutional credit, agricultural economics, and financial markets, with his doctoral work examining the impact of institutional credit on farmers in Bangalore Rural District. He has authored over 20 publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference presentations, and holds a design patent for an IoT-based women’s safety wrist band. His professional journey is marked by active participation in national and international conferences, sustained engagement in faculty development programmes, and a continued focus on research-driven, interdisciplinary teaching in economics and management.
