Dr. Muhammed Safwan K K
Assistant Professor
Dr. Muhammed Safwan K. K. is an emerging academician specializing in Finance and Accounting, with a growing body of research centered on behavioural finance. He earned his Ph.D. in Commerce as a UGC NET-JRF Fellow from the Central University of Tamil Nadu (2025), along with a Master of Commerce from Bharathiyar University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calicut. He currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies and has previously held teaching and administrative positions, including as Head of the Department of Commerce at Kuniya College of Arts and Science, as well as teaching roles at Pondicherry University and WMO Arts and Science College, Muttil. His teaching interests span Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, Income Tax, and Behavioural Finance, catering to both undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
Dr. Safwan’s research focus lies at the intersection of personal financial management and behavioural finance, with particular emphasis on the role of financial personality in shaping investment decisions and biases. His work has been published in ABDC, Scopus, and UGC CARE-indexed journals, and he has presented his research at reputed platforms including IIM Jammu’s International Finance and Accounting Conference, the SEBI-NISM Research Conference at NISM Mumbai, and the Research Symposium on Finance and Economics hosted by IFMR Graduate School of Business. A Life Member of the Indian Accounting Association, Dr. Safwan continues to contribute to academic governance and research mentorship, driven by a commitment to advancing the understanding of behavioural dimensions in financial decision-making.
