Dr. Shashikumar N.D.
Associate Professor
Dr. Shashikumar N.D. is an accomplished academician, researcher, and academic administrator with 18 years of professional experience spanning academia and the pharmaceutical industry. He holds an MSc in Industrial Chemistry from Kuvempu University (2006), a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Kuvempu University (completed in 2012), and an MCA specializing in Artificial Intelligence from Jain University (2024). Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, Bengaluru, he brings interdisciplinary expertise in Chemistry, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analysis.
His professional experience includes serving as a Research Scientist at Alkem Laboratories Ltd. and contributing to academic research, ERP development, and institutional initiatives at Christ University. He has authored 15 research publications, predominantly in international journals. His research interests encompass synthetic organic chemistry, AI applications in agriculture and medicine, and machine learning for organic synthesis.
In addition to his academic and research contributions, he has played a significant role in examination administration, ERP implementation, AI-driven process optimization, and institutional quality initiatives, including the new NAAC accreditation framework. He has organized and participated in numerous national and international conferences and workshops, demonstrating a sustained commitment to research excellence, technological innovation, and academic development.
