Balaraju B. V. is an Assistant Professor of Kannada in the Department of Arts and Humanities at Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies (CAIAS), Bengaluru, India, with over 15 years of teaching experience. He holds an M.A. in Kannada and has qualified for the UGC-NET. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Kannada at Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, with his doctoral research focusing on Modern Kannada Drama and the concept of freedom, examining its historical, social, religious, economic, linguistic, and stylistic dimensions. His areas of academic interest include Kannada literature, modern Kannada drama, theatre studies, folk performance traditions, cultural studies, and contemporary literary discourse.

Balaraju B. V. is an active researcher with five Scopus-indexed research papers and has presented more than 15 research papers at national and international conferences. He is also the author of the book Chintana–Manthana (2019). His research explores contemporary issues in Kannada literature, drama, theatre, culture, and society, with an emphasis on connecting regional literary traditions with interdisciplinary perspectives in the humanities and social sciences. He actively contributes to academic research, conferences, curriculum development, literary activities, and student enrichment programmes, with a broader scholarly commitment to promoting Kannada language, literature, and cultural studies at national and international levels.
