Library Instructions for Users
The library functions as a central resource for knowledge, research, and academic achievement, offering essential materials and an environment conducive to learning. To promote efficient operation and equitable access, the library adheres to a structured set of rules and procedures. These guidelines maintain order, safeguard library materials, and support a productive atmosphere for all users, including students, teachers, and staff. The following is a comprehensive outline of the rules and procedures that all members must observe.
General Instructions
- The institute identity cards are non-transferable; users must carry their Institute ID card at all times while using the Library.
- Personal belongings are not permitted inside the library and must be deposited at the designated property counter. The library shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to users’ personal belongings.
- All users, including students, faculty, and administrative staff, are required to record their names in the library entry register and scan their identity cards at the entry gate.
- Strict silence must be maintained within the library at all times. Conversation and sleeping are strictly prohibited.
- The use of mobile phones is not permitted. If mobile phones are brought into the library, they must be set to silent mode.
- Bluetooth headphones, earphones, and other audio devices are strictly prohibited within the library premises.
- Documents removed from the shelves should be left on the tables. Users are discouraged from reshelving materials to prevent misplacement.
- All library property must be handled with care, and users should avoid disturbing other readers.
- Marking, underlining, writing on, tearing pages, or otherwise damaging library materials is strictly prohibited.
- Reference collections are for on-site use only and do not circulate. However, they may be issued for overnight use in accordance with library rules.
- Photocopying is permitted in accordance with library policies.
- Library materials may not be removed from the premises without explicit permission from library staff.
- Users are expected to maintain cleanliness and order within the library.
- Users are not allowed to carry food and drinks (except water) inside the library.
- Violation of library rules may result in the suspension or revocation of library privileges.
- Suggestions for improving library services are encouraged, as your feedback helps us serve you better and makes you feel valued as part of our community.
Digital Library User Guidelines
- The Digital Library is designated exclusively for academic purposes.
- Users must present a valid Library ID card and sign in at the Digital Library registration desk before accessing the facility.
- Installation or removal of software on library computers is not permitted.
- The use of computers for gaming is strictly prohibited throughout the Library premises.
- Online chatting is not allowed within the Digital Library.
- Any malfunctioning computers should be reported to the library staff as soon as possible.
- Misuse of facilities will result in the suspension of access and may lead to disciplinary action.
